Swatch FIVB World Tour - World Series 13 - Marseille - US Teams have Beach Volleyball Goldfingers

Voilà un World Series 13 qui se termine avec l'accent americain puisque ce sont Jennifer Kessy - April Ross chez les femmes et Phil Dalhausser - Todd Rogers chez les hommes qui au bout de leurs Goldfingers ont conqui le Grand Chelem à Marseille.
Victoires largement méritées vu la qualité et la maîtrise de jeu de ces 2 équipes qui n'ont laissé aucune chance à d'autres équipes de les inquiéter.
C'est sur la seconde place du podium que les outsiders se sont exprimés avec les grecs Vicky Arvaniti - Maria Tsiartsiani et les espagnols Pablo Herrera - Adrian Gavira qui ont ravi le public marseillais avec des matchs qui marqueront le Prado.
L'exploit des grecs a commencé avec la victoire sur l'une des meilleurs équipes du monde, les américaines Elaine Youngs - Nicole Branagh, par 2 sets 0 en 47 mn (21-17 21-16) puis en quart de finale voilà que Vicky et Maria récidivent en battant un autre grosse équipe brésilienne, Ana Paula - Shelda 21-13 21-15.
Mais après ces 2 performances, les grecs ne se sont pas arrêté en si bon chemin puisqu'en demi finales elles vont encore prendre le dessus sur les allemandes Championnes d'Europe, Sara Goller - Laura Ludwig, en leur infligeant un sévère 21-12 21-17. Seules donc Kessy - Ross ont eu raison des grecs en Finale.
Dans le tournoi Hommes même type de scenario à peu près pour Pablo Herrera - Adrian Gavira. Après des matchs pièges lors des 2 premiers contre les danois Hoyer - Soderberg (qui avaient sorti Salema - Baracetti au match d'avant) et les français Yannick Salvetti - Fabien Dugrip (auteur d'un super premier match) qu'ils ont réussi à bien gérer, Pablo et Adrian ont été les héros d'un match de quart de finale fantastique.
Dans un décor digne des plus beaux scenari de l'histoire du Beach Volleyball - terrain annexe encerclé de nombreux spectateurs, 2 équipes prêtes à faire le spectacle, les clans espagnols et brésiliens présents et un superbe coucher de soleil - Pablo Herrera et Adrian Gavira ont fait un superbe match contre les non moins extraordinaires Harley & Alison (actuellement 1er du Swatch FIVB World Tour). C'est dans une tension extrême que les espagnols remportent ce match d'anthologie, qui sera inscrit dans la légende du World series 13, 2 sets à 1 (25-27 21-19 20-18).
A noter aussi les excellentes 3ème places de Reckermann - Brink et Ludwig - Goller qui confirment que l'Europe (surtout l'allemagne) jouent dorénavant à chaque fois les premiers rôles. Incroyable aussi qu'aucune équipe brésilienne ne soit montée sur le podium alors qu'elles étaient venues en force.
Pour finir il faut parler aussi de la polémique qui a gonflé à Marseille sur la simple élimination aui pour les puristes et les personnes qui veulent voir beaucoup de matchs n'est pas une bonne chose mais qui pour les organisateurs permet une certaine souplesse de gestion du tournoi et pour certaines équipes c'est une oportunité de se faire une place sur le podium car sur un match tout peut arriver... à suivre.

In the Men tournament quite same scenario about for Pablo Herrera - Adrian Gavira.
After matches traps at the time of the 2 first against Danish Hoyer - Soderberg (who had won against Salema - Baracetti before) and French Yannick Salvetti - Fabien Dugrip (who played a super first match) they succeeded in well managing, Pablo and Adrian was the heroes of a fantastic quarterfinal match.
